FAQ

Are campers bunked by age? No – They are bunked by church group, by request, or at random. Back

What is the counselor to camper ratio? Two counselors for every 10 kids in the bunkhouses. Back

Are campers always supervised? Yes – Counselors accompany them 24 hours a day. Back

How are the campers disciplined? First time – warning. Second time – miss activity. Third time – sent to Camp Director. Continued disobedience may result in dismissal from camp. Back

May I call my child at camp? No. Family members may reach campers by phone only in an emergency by calling 318-382-0772. We will pass message on to them, and if need be, we will let them return phone call. Campers will not be allowed to use the phone unless it is an emergency. Reason – this can cause camper to become homesick. Please do not send a cell phone with your child. Back

Can I reach someone at camp any time of the day or night in case of an emergency? Yes – The emergency number is 318-382-0772. Can campers receive mail during their stay? Yes – the campers will have "PONY EXPRESS MAIL"; so send your child a letter or two, or e-mail them (limit of 3/week single page e-mails / no color)! What do you do for homesick kids? Do you let them call home? Campers are allowed to call home at the Camp Director's discretion. Campers who become homesick and leave their camp session early are not eligible for refunds. Back

Are washing machines available for campers that wet the bed? If the child tells the counselor, one of the counselors will clean up while the kids are out. Back

Do you give kids pain reliever if needed? Yes, if directed by parent or legal guardian on application. Back

Does my child have to turn in his medicine even if he knows when to take it and how much? Campers are allowed to bring their prescription and over-the-counter medications, but these must be turned in at check-in. (including inhalers) Any camper on medication that must be given at camp needs to bring their medication in one (1) large ziplock bag with each medication marked with dosage and his/her name. Please give this bag to person responsible for checking in campers. Do not pack in suitcases. (If this is prepared in advance, it helps tremendously at check-in time!) Back

Are feminine products available at camp? Yes. Back

How close is the nearest hospital? Ten miles. Back

Are you able to provide special dietary needs such as no sugar, no candy, nothing with red dye in it, no fried foods, etc.? Yes – If the child is under medical supervision by a doctor, or an allergic reaction is known. Please note this on their registration application. Back

Can parents send special food to replace sweets? Yes – Special foods can be sent, but they must be kept in a Tupperware-type container (with lid) to be kept at their cabin. Back

How much money do they need to bring and/or is there a camp store? None – One daily snack is included in the total cost of an RRC "INDIVIDUAL" camp - children will not need money during their stay. Campers may bring additional snacks as long as they are kept in a Tupperware-type container (with lid) to be kept at their cabin. Please note for groups/church organizations: Sorry, this does not apply to you, you must provide snacks for your groups. At the present, we do not have a camp store. Back

What denomination is Redeemed Ranch Camp? Redeemed Ranch Camp is an interdenominational Christian ministry. Statement of Faith – We believe the Bible to be the Word of God. We believe in the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe the new birth is a necessity to all men. When a person receives God's gift of salvation, by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, it produces eternal life. We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit living in the believer, and the importance of a life committed to God in Christ. Back

What are specific activities the campers will be doing? Campers will be involved in a variety of activities including horseback riding, horsemanship education, swimming, fishing, archery, low challenge course, hayrides, bon fires, crafts, games, etc. Back

What do the kids do if it rains? Special activities are provided depending on weather advisories. Back

How do you pick your counselors? Along with checking two personal references and one pastoral reference, each applicant is carefully screened and hand picked by the Camp Director. Back

If my child has to come home early, is there a partial refund? It depends on the reason for leaving. In the case of illness (as determined by the Camp Director), the camp fees will be refunded on a per day basis. In the case of dismissal due to continued behavioral problems or homesickness, camp fees will not be refunded. The camp will not be held responsible for travel expenses incurred in picking up the child. Back

How many times a day do you have ministry? We have a morning devotion and evening ministry with worship. All activities incorporate scriptural analogies. Back

Is the $50 deposit ever refundable? No – The $50 deposit is non-refundable or non-transferable. Back

Are horsemanship instructors certified? Yes – The horsemanship instructors are certified through CCHI. (Christian Camping Horsemanship International) Back
